NUDITY IN MOVIES Author and compiler Percy Ashburner is working on a book that, when completed, will be a veritable treasure trove for the videophile and entertainment buff. The book is a first attempt at including every actress who’s done a nude scene in a film that’s been released on video. Everyone’s a critic: just look at the different movie guides on the bookshelves. All of them are critiques, some with ratings. Nobody seems to focus on what the movie is about. Browse the web at any movie site or check the comments therein and again, everybody’s a critic. What’s refreshing about this book is it simply tells the story of the movie, lists the pertinent cast, the director and then the actresses in their nude scenes in order of appearance. The book’s second part lists the actresses alphabetically with the movies they’ve appeared nude in; you can read about these movies in the first part. The third part lists the directors. All you have to do is make up your own mind about the film if the story sounds interesting or if you want to view the actress. By focusing on the nudity aspect, most films ignored by guides on the market will be included. Genres like horror, exploitation, erotica and the ubiquitous B-movies that are deemed unworthy of critique or rating in most guides will be here for you to read about. Foreign films will also be included, another area not covered in many books. A nude scene for the purpose of classifying in this book means a clear shot—no body doubles or fade-ins, fade-outs. Rear shots and close-ups of body parts without an accompanying face are not considered. This book does not include hard-core adult films, specialty videos or music videos. All theatrical films, cable TV films, made-for-video films that have been released at one time on video are included. Note: Only recognisable and credited actresses are included; there are many movies out there when identification is impossible.
